The wisdom of death?

I am searching for what I term, “wisdom of death”. That is, I believe there are traditions and wisdom to be learned about death, and how it affects us as individuals and communities.

I see death in more places than ever, and on reflection I believe I am ready to walk paths that I had turned away from, due to lack of interest and the high bar of access to the understanding of the rites and traditions involved. I also have a better scaffolding in place, to process what I learn.

I’m not putting a temporal limit on this query, either: I’m fine with contemporary wisdom concerning death; it is, after all, our time.

Where shall I look for the wisdom of death?
